I don't think the MILITEC-1 people say their lube "soaks" into the metal, but rather "bonds" with it. I just enjoy being able to have a completely dry pivot and it still have a smooth action. Militec does that extremely well for me.
Militec-1 is designed to be an absolute dry lubricant, and in order for it to "bond" to the steel, it is best to heat it up. You dont HAVE to, but Militec recommends it.
